Terms of Service
Last updated August 2026. This is a general template, not legal advice — it should be reviewed by a professional before you rely on it with real, paying customers.
1. What Solo Sitter is
Solo Sitter is software for independent pet sitters and dog walkers to manage bookings, client and pet records, deposit requests, and visit reports. By creating an account, you agree to these terms.
2. Your subscription
Solo Sitter is billed as a recurring subscription, processed by our payment provider (currently Dodo Payments, acting as merchant of record). You can cancel any time; your access continues until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, and does not renew after that.
3. Deposits are between you and your client — not us
This is the most important thing to understand: Solo Sitter never processes, holds, or has access to the deposit or balance payments your clients send you. You connect a payment method you already use — Venmo, PayPal.Me, a card link, or similar — and Solo Sitter tracks the request and reminds your client. When you mark a payment as "received," that's your own confirmation; we have no independent way to verify the money actually arrived in your account. Disputes between you and your client over a payment are between the two of you — Solo Sitter can provide the request history and reference code as a record, but doesn't arbitrate payment disputes.
4. Your clients' data
You're responsible for having your clients' permission to store their information (contact details, pet details, home access instructions) in Solo Sitter, and for the accuracy of what you enter. We act as a processor of that data on your behalf — see the Privacy Policy for how we handle it.
5. Acceptable use
Use Solo Sitter for its intended purpose — running a legitimate pet sitting or dog walking business. Don't use it to store data you don't have the right to store, to send unsolicited communications through the platform, or to attempt to access other sitters' accounts or data.
6. No guarantee, but we try hard
We aim for high reliability and monitor for errors in real time, but Solo Sitter is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We're not liable for indirect damages, lost bookings, or lost income arising from use of the service, to the extent allowed by law.
7. Ending your account
You can cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, misuse the service, or fail to pay.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [Your State/Country].
9. Changes to these terms
If we make a significant change, we'll update the date above and email active accounts.
