Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026. This is a general template, not legal advice — it should be reviewed by a professional before you rely on it with real, paying customers.
What we collect
From you (the sitter): your email address (for signing in), business name, and the payment handle you enter for receiving deposits (e.g. a Venmo or PayPal handle).
From your clients, entered by you or by them: client name, contact details, and address; pet details (feeding, medication, vaccine dates, temperament); home access instructions (door codes, key locations); and booking, payment, and visit-report records.
How we use it
Solely to run the app: showing your bookings and client records back to you, sending booking/reminder emails, calculating deposits, and generating visit reports. We don't sell any of this data, and we don't use it to advertise to you or your clients.
Home access codes get extra protection
Door codes, gate codes, and similar home access details are encrypted before they're stored, with the encryption key kept outside the database. Every time this information is viewed in the app, that view is logged (who, when, which client) for accountability.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run Solo Sitter, and we only send them what they need to do their job:
- Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage
- Resend — sending booking, reminder, and receipt emails
- Dodo Payments — processing your Solo Sitter subscription payment (Solo Sitter never processes your clients' deposit payments — those go directly to your own Venmo/PayPal/card link)
- Sentry — error monitoring, so we notice and fix bugs quickly
We may add a privacy-conscious analytics tool in the future to understand product usage; if so, this policy will be updated first.
How long we keep it
For as long as your account is active. If you delete a client from the app, their pet profile and home access details are removed and permanently purged within 30 days. If you want your entire account and its data deleted, email hello@solositter.app — there's no self-serve delete button yet, so we handle these requests by hand.
Your data, exportable any time
You can export your clients, pets, bookings, and payment records to CSV at any time from Settings. If you ever leave, your data leaves with you.
Children's privacy
Solo Sitter is a business tool for adult pet sitters and their adult clients. It's not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, email active accounts.
